Creating a Persona

Creating a persona takes just a few seconds. Personas let you post receipts, comments, and vote under a different identity — great for when you want to contribute without using your real name.

Steps

1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Scroll to the Personas section.
4. Click Create New Persona.
5. Enter a display name for this persona (up to 30 characters).
6. Choose an avatar:
   • Upload an image — click the avatar or "Upload Image" (max 10 MB, supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP)
   • Generate one — pick a DiceBear style (Adventurer, Pixel Art, Bots, etc.) and click the dice button
7. Click Save to finish.

Your new persona is immediately available for use!

Your Default Persona

Every account has a default persona that uses your Google account name and photo. This is your real identity and cannot be renamed — it can only be changed through your Google account. You can customize the avatar of your default persona.

Tips

• Choose names that fit how you want to be seen (e.g., "MovieBuff42" for casual takes, or "Dr. Smith" for academic commentary).
• Other users see only the persona name and avatar — not your real account details.
• You can edit or delete personas at any time from Settings.
• Deleting a persona doesn't delete your receipts — they'll still show the persona name from when they were posted.
